Leading Light is an award winning, female led arts collective.
We conceive theatrical productions and events which raise awareness for the unspoken subjects revolving around young adults in our modern society. Not only giving them a voice within our community, but allowing them to regain the confidence to be heard.
There is a gap in the creative industry that we are determined to fill by challenging the topics which are simply dismissed in our day to day lives. Young adults are now being given opportunities to share their views and voices within a conflicted nation. However, there is a pressure of feeling the need to fit in within society. Our objective is to find these voices and give them the strength to learn, grow and conquer.
"They have bright futures ahead of them,
look forward to seeing their journey."
Lucy Basaba (Theatre Full Stop)
The mind of a creative is an assembly of millions of ideas. Every piece of art in history was sparked from one singular idea. As creatives, it is our job to distinguish the singular idea from the millions, which will create a thought-provoking, powerful piece of art.
We collaborated with Xanthus Peters to create this piece of art to act as a looking glass into who we are. What you are looking at are a collection of photographs which represent how we’d like the world to look, the way our beautiful industry should be.
You are looking at a mixture of creatives from different ethnicities, classes, religions and sexualities coming together proudly and unapologetically. If you look close enough, you’ll see that we may be different, but it’s our solidarity that makes us stronger.
WHAT LEADS YOUR LIGHT?
Networking as a creative can sometimes feel like a complete chore. Introducing yourself, creating unwanted small talk…
What have you been in? What work are you creating? Nothing? Okay, thanks bye.
But we’ve created an event where you can meet and relate to emerging artists; see and discuss brand new work; networking amongst bright creatives and chilling while you do it!
Make sure you keep an eye out for What Leads Your Light on our Events section.
